In an Utopian society, these men would be termed as bullies.

But with criminals running free and faced with incompetencies of the security apparatus to deal with them, these men had no other recourse in the rapidly lawless state but to take matters into their own hands. These men are heros, for they know what they do is wrong, prepared for the consequences, did not run away or resist arrest but subject themselves to the law, the very legal recourse that had failed them in the first place.

There is only the security apparatus to be blame when civilians start taking laws into their own hands, for they had failed the population with their mismanagement and poor governance, whereby criminals and incompetence is placed above the law.

I personally am against vigilante actions, but i can understand the circumstances that led to the men's actions. May the legal recourse that failed them in the first place deal kindly with them.

And may those who seek to make mockeries of the law and the constitution, be they civilians or govt officials be stopped and apprehended.

As a Johorean, I would beg to differ, our police is not "jiak liao bee", that already give to much face liow, they are "jiak ho nang" meaning they are there to catch and make life difficult for good citizen like me.

Now you know why lar, with the Penang Porche case (thief can go into the police compound, add petrol and drive the car out), the Mongolian Girl case (police say they issue out handgun and bullet no record), all the police responsible also no action taken agains them which means ar..it is not PDRM - Polis Diraja Malaysia (Royal Malaysian Police)...it has become PRDM - Polis Raja Di Malaysia (Police are kings in Malaysia).

Sebe jialat,,,but no choice,,,JB is my home..now carry weapon in car lor to protect myself

Malaysia is to consider introducing public flogging as a punishment for child rape.
The suggestion follows the rape and murder of two 10-year-old girls in the space of a week.

Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has demanded swift action in the wake of the killings.

The death of the second victim, Nurulhuda Ghani, shook the whole country, prompting both outrage and a bout of soul-searching.

She was raped and sodomized before being strangled.

Police in the southern state of Johor have arrested three men in connection with her murder.

Her death followed the rape and stabbing of another 10-year-old girl in Malaysian Borneo a week earlier.

Deterrent

The country's de facto law minister said he would ask the cabinet to approve tougher punishments for such crimes.

Courts can already order rapists to be flogged but this might instead be carried out in public as a deterrent.

Murder carries the death penalty in Malaysia. Child rapists who kill their victims could be whipped publicly before being executed.

The cabinet will also be asked to consider bringing in a British-style register for sex offenders.

Emergency legislation left over from the days of Malaysia's fight against communist insurgents could also be used to detain those suspected, but not convicted, of multiple sex offences.

Police recorded a 17% increase in the number of reported rapes between 2000 and 2002. Almost two-thirds of the victims were under 16.

got, plenty! Only the high profile cases are reported.

According to their Muslim law, the victim gotta summon 4 witnesses of good / high community statuses / publicly respectable figures, otherwise, the rapist cannot be convicted!!!

knn, maciam the rape incident has to take place in front of these 4 witnesses, then is considered real rape with valid evidence!!!

I was shocked to read that there are 8 sexual assualts daily in Johor! And that's only reported cases.

Sigh..the threat level to women is high enough to warrant:-

1. Constant warning in the news for women to take preventive measures written by experts against sexual assualts.

2. Communities to set up self help groups to help assualted victims by:-

a. reassuring them its not their fault that they dressed sexily, or born beautiful, or walking on the streets. Most of the victims blame themselves when the actual culprits are the criminals who cannot control himself. Even women wrapped up showing only eyes are assualted, what more excuses can these animals or religious societies give?

b. Inform and accompany them that it is vital to go a medical checkup for DNA evidence gathering as well as STD tests. Already assualted, dont lose life. Furthermore, must not remain silent and allow the animals to go assualt another.

c. Help reconcile her with family members who may be shocked and lost at what to do, and prepare for rehabilitation to normal life, assuring her not to hate all mankind, for mankind is there to help her and on her side, even if some are not.

d. Accompany her to the police station to lodge report and ensure that the police do record her statement seriously and not bully her, by standing up for her. Do not let her feel alone.

A religious state is a nation that is governed through moral authority from an Almighty. It's leaders and people are supposed to be a reflection of the pureness of the heavenly host. All are welcome into the nation to share in its glory and protected from harm, lives respected, for no religion allows disrepect to women, more so when there is no declared war.

But looking at the 8 lives sexually assualted daily makes me wonder what kind of reflection the leaders and inhabitants of the supposedly religious state is showing....
