well, at least not for me. i hope our youngsters get more playing time in a senior game, be it in BPL or Cup games. even if it's as a sub in the last 10 mins or so, it will give the youngster a massive jab in confidence.

Ngog is showing some good signs when he scored 2 goals in the Europa 1st leg. Insua played something like the last 1/4 of Pool's BPL games last season and had a fairly decent run. Seen Spearing played occasionally and he's quite skilful. I think all 3 deserve a 2nd chance this season. As for El Zhar, im yet to be impressed. Hope he pulls up his socks or he may juz end up as another player in 1 of the lower clubs in BPL.

Temporary: we don't have the money now to buy stars so have to do with frees or cheap older players.

I do give credit, and also to Fergie for his own crop of young players. But times have changed now and money rules, and AW's way is the highway now.

AW's way is to try to win with youngsters. Can our youngsters do that? I ask you again, name a first team and bench with youngsters that you think can win the league for us *this season*.

It's one thing to advocate giving more playing time to the better youngsters like Insua, Kelly, Pacheco, Ngog (which I completely agree) and another to say youngsters can win the league.

Shall you play Pacheco instead of Cole then? Ngog instead of Torres? But that's the AW way.

Point is, our youngsters are not good enough this season to challenge (much less the title). Who was it who started getting youngsters in, addressing a blind spot under Houllier? Yes, the previous 'stupid manager' Rafa Benitez. But even he would say they are not ready.

Neither have I said they are poor (except for El Zhar, and I am sceptical about Spearing), but the point is, can you win the league with them as first choice?

Giving them more mins and experience is not the same as the AW way, which is what SC is saying.
