Re: Vietnam - HCM (Thread 3)
Fr Part 2 of my 6D5N first time trip to HCM:
U can find the part 1 link here: https://sammyreviews.store/showpo...ostcount=11866 3rd Day: Took uber to backpacker street Ailen Garden Hotel which i am staying. Room was new and clean with all basic amenity, is a twin room at US30 , no intention to have any actions in D1..haha. Had lunch at nearby pho shop before meetup with the tour guide from hotpot. A University student, she brought us (just2 of us) to some sight seeing at the war museum, post office and the church opposite. Tour ended around evening, after seeing her off at the 21/7 (if i rem correctly) park, we had a quick bite at the nearby Kentucky before heading to the night Ben Thanh Market. Bought a pair of New Bxxx (counterfeit) sport shoes at 300k dong, bargain from 600k. after this, we recce around the park area and some dancing activites going around there, also had some light snacks along the park..after this we headed to the night spot at backpacker street..no actions here, never go in any pub and any drink as just look see look see..ended the day almost 2 hrs of recce along 范老五街before head back to hotel for an early rest.. Note: Is my first time in HCM, so visiting D1 just for the sight seeing, not into any club or pub, i would rather try this out in other districts and will not be staying here in future trips.. Day 4: Woke up late morning, then busily packing our stuff and checked out of hotel. Walked to the FUTA station to get the bus ticket to Vung Tau at 95k per pax..A 2hr journey, stop halfway for makan and toilet break. Reached Vung Tau and took a cab to Nguyen Ha Hotel, nothing fancy abt the hotel. Just a budget hotel and walking distance to the beach. Hire the motobike at 200k per day. We rode along the road beside the beach, stopover at cafe to have some coffee ( i luv Vietnam coffee) before heading to the ferry terminal where we had our dinner at Ganh hao 2, price reasonable, just order from the menu with listed price....after this, we went to recce in the centre area and checking out some massage parlours. Here the ticket is 150 to 200k. i cant remember the name and also forget to take pics, there are 2 club opposite each other (one is open concept, the other is glass panel), so u can see the scene and was packed with people...more recce after this, then was approached by some pimps in motobike following us..haha..so went with them to one den or hostel, not sure as we r outside the gate but told was closed, (after 11am). then they go and fetch some girls, but none to our liking, so we rejected and left. on our way back, another 2 pimps approached us, so this time, we follow them to one of the massage parlor, ticket is 200k and is time of closing hr, so see no point, told them that we r going back to our hotel. And in fact they follow us back..so we agree that they bring the girls and if we ok, just have the bonk in our rooms..ended paying 600k for the girl service. and lastly have a stroll at the park by the beach, where many activities going around, eg, dancing, hooverboards rental, karaoke...etc Day 5: Woke up early morning and of course heading to the back beach. Spend some time there, relaxing, have coffee and some seafoods at those mobile stalls with their own seats and shade by the beach. This time, we tried the ferry back to saigon, forget the price abt 2xxk, but i will prefer taking the bus, more comfort thought the time is slightly more..maybe said 20 mins and the bus ticket counter and shuttle bus to the terminal is within walking distance wherelse the ferry terminal is at the other end of D1...Reached hcm and took uber to next destination D10 Le Hong Phong. Wanted to stay overnight at 795 Kathy hotel, but was told full, so went to check in at Hoang ha at 240k per night..dun expect much from the room, but for me, i am nom to all this ST and budget hotel (stay in 1 star hotel in jb too). recce the street behind the hotel, saw some girls sitting and chatting outside this stall at the corner, at around 2 pm. bought some stuff at nearby 24/7 shop and back to hotel. In hotel room, i surfed the kynu website (found this one more friendly usage or navigate among the other 2, my own perspective). Contact 1 girl price at 400k (since is my first time trying the website), tell me to come to hotel kathy, let her know that i will contact her again..scroll thru the rest and saw another one with nice figure at 400k too but listed hotel is at SVH.. Below is the conversation: me: em co ranh khong her: ranh a me: 400k: her: da dung roj a me: Da 1 caj 400k her: ok a me: ks nao her: 791 ks minh hieu me: ks hoang ha ok? 793 le hong phong her: ok a me: 6 gio 30, phong xxx she: ok. So real person with average looking but good figure as seem on pic. Average service, with bbbj and pay her 400k..after 30 mins she left, the girl i contacted earlier msg me, ask me why i never contact her and she does know that i book another girl instead whom she claim is her friend, and sounded angry..curious how the weblink network works..actually when the girl reached, cos i am a foreigner, so they ask me the show the conversation me and her had earlier and also ask me my mobile no..maybe they share some info at ??? ..ok..so i just give her some excuse and tell her gonna book her next..so agree on next day 10am..believe the time she start work.. At night, have a walk along VSH streets, tried the fruits and yogurt in bowl at Trai Cay To (shop name), yummy..a few around that stretch, but this one is most crowded. Went to the same spa we visited on the 2nd day before back to hotel.. Day 6: Around 945 am, pm the girl to confirm the timing at 10 am..average look and figure, service is not not so rush as compare to previous and bbbj longer..haha...and drop down the expectation, thought the same person on the link, but all pic ps before...look, skin, complexion may differ by certain percent.. Took the 15.35 flight back to Sg. Note: Uber is easy to use and cheaper, have not try the bus yet, maybe next trip to Can THo..only time i take cab was in Vung Tau..no uber lah.. Here finish my fr and also at same time planning my next trip in end July for 6 nights, might go over to Can Tho for 1 night or 2 and visit the Mekong Delta, now gathering some info on this, any bro there can help me, maybe Can Tho chiong scence, and travel by bus from hcm to can tho..thanks in advance..

And yes the quality of the massage itself was almost shocking, she actually did know what she was doing. I've had genuine Thai massage at Wat Po and this wasn't that good but it was more than halfway there. That said, I'm not a real massage guy, so maybe this is a good deal for a serious massage--but that honestly wasn't what I was after here. I guess I got what I wanted, the phone number and interest on her part in something more. Just need to find out what that is. And how much. |

There's also Grab taxi and I think Lyft here (? -- correct me if I'm wrong). Funny I have taken these a couple times but I actually don't know which one(s) I took. But it was fine. A car picks you up and takes you where you wanna go. It's much cheaper (tho that's not a particular problem in HCMC -- taxis cheap here already) They've been so successful that honestly I think it's going to change the way taxis work from now on. This is the future. Vinasun and Mailinh will probably have apps before long, and once the different Uber type services take hold, taxis will be forced to lower their prices in order to compete. So you may as well hop on now for the ride, cuz this is how the ride is gonna be in years to come. Anyone who hasn't tried them, just find the Uber app (or Grab etc) and put it on your phone. Open up the app and the rest is self-explanatory. |

Raid going on...
Vietnam police bust prostitution rings targeting foreigners HO CHI MINH CITY - Thursday, October 16, 2014 00:17Email Print Police in Ho Chi Minh City have detained dozens of people, including pimps, for allegedly running two prostitution rings exclusively targeting foreigners in the downtown area. At 0:45am on Wednesday, a task force of at least 100 police officers swooped on the Whete Lotus Hotel in Thi Sach Street in District 1, catching two couples in the act. The clients were foreigners, the police said, without revealing their nationalities. Upon questioning the couples, the police continued to raid three restaurants in the same district: Hai Chi Em (Two Sisters) on Dong Du Street, Nhip Dieu (Rhythm) on Thi Sach Street, and Sinobar on Dong Du Street, seizing a number of records documenting the prostitution activities. The police have detained 34 people involved pending further investigations. But they did not say whether the foreign clients were taken into custody. During interrogation, 38-year-old Nguyen Thi Ngoc Loan, owner of the Sinobar restaurant, said she and Nguyen Thi Nguyet Lan, 33, connived with the restaurant staffs to sell sex exclusively to foreign clients. The prostitutes would approach potential customers at the restaurant, open up to 3am every day, charging at least US$100 for each hotel tryst from which Loan or Lan took a cut of up to VND600,000. The pair each raked in around VND30 million ($1,414) per month, they said. Loan also contributed half of the shares to jointly run the Nhip Dieu restaurant with Nguyen Thi Kim, 35, and Nguyen Thanh Hien, 36. Nhip Dieu also caters exclusively to foreigners. 32-year-old Pham Thi Hoa, owner of Hai Chi Em restaurant, used the same modus operandi for her ring, the police said. It is not immediately clear if the three busted restaurants swapped prostitutes with one another and if their services are closely related. Further investigations would be underway, police said. Prostitution is illegal in Vietnam. The social affairs ministry in August called for stricter fines against pimps and patrons in a bid to stem a surge of prostitution that followed the abolition of compulsory rehabilitation centers for sex workers last year. Meanwhile, drug addicts are still subject to compulsory rehab. The number of sex workers in Vietnam -- criminals according to the government -- increased last year and prostitution became harder to control, according to the social affairs ministry A report by the ministry said the number grew to nearly 33,000 in 2013, up more than 9 percent from the previous year. A report by newswire AFP in September quoted researchers as estimating that there are around 200,000 sex workers in Vietnam, full-time or occasional, of whom up to 40 percent are believed to be HIV-positive. The civil society has been pressuring the government to legalize prostitution so that the industry could be regulated, triggering fierce debate from both sides of the camp. The National Assembly, Vietnam’s legislature, is set to debate this issue at the biannual plenary session that opens later this month

Re: Vietnam - HCM (Thread 3)
Soon D10 and D8 coming
Police bust major prostitution ring in downtown HCMC Three women were arrested last week for allegedly procuring prostitution in downtown Ho Chi Minh City. Photo: Thanh Van Vietnam's police have arrested nine people accused of procuring prostitution after raiding a hotel in downtown Ho Chi Minh City where two sex workers were caught red-handed. At the police station, Le Tuan Anh, 35, confessed to having procured prostitution at many hotels in District 1 since 2009, Dan Tri reported. Subsequent investigation led to the arrests of other procurers who supplied sex workers to Anh’s racket for VND1-2 million (US$47-94). Anh took half of the money, while the rest was shared equally among the sex worker and their pimp, police said. On November 17, two men rented rooms at the Minh Vy Hotel on Le Thi Hong Gam Street and asked Anh to arrange some company. The sex workers and clients were caught red-handed at around 1AM on November 18. Police are investigating the case. Last week, the city police detained 34 people, including pimps, for allegedly running two prostitution rings exclusively targeting foreigners in the downtown area.

Re: Vietnam - HCM (Thread 3)
HCMC police bust another prostitution ring targeting foreigners
Ho Chi Minh City police have detained dozens of people, including pimps and johns, for allegedly running a prostitution ring targeting mostly foreigners in the city. The police raid into a hotel on Phan Xich Long Street in Phu Nhuan District and caught three couples in the act at around 8:35 p.m. Thursday. As many as 18 people involved were questioned. The police then arrested Nguyen Van Hong, a major pimp, and others people for investigations. Hong told police he used to work as a xe om (motorbike taxi) driver in District 1. In 2007, he connived with the owners of brothels in districts 1 and 4 and brokered for the prostitutes who served mostly foreigners for US$100 each time. He printed cards advertising massage and karaoke services and tours and distributed them to taxi drivers and hotel receptionists in districts 1, 3, 4, 5 and Phu Nhuan. In fact, it was those services that provided prostitutes to foreigners. The prostitutes were mostly sent to hotels on Le Thanh Ton, Hai Ba Trung and Ngo Van Nam streets in District 1 and Phan Xich Long in Phu Nhuan District. Of the money earned from prostitution, Hong raked in half of the sum, while the owner of a brothel got a 25 percent cut each time. The prostitution ring operates from 6 p.m. to the following morning everyday. Prostitution is illegal in Vietnam. According to latest figures compiled by the social affairs ministry, the number of sex workers in Vietnam -- criminals according to the government -- increased in 2013 and prostitution became harder to control. A report by the ministry said the number grew to nearly 33,000 in 2013, up more than 9 percent from the previous year. And then I noticed the date on this new story Actually I had been in all 3 of those bars, and also many others of the same kind. We need the crying emojis here. :'( One has to be impressed by the detective work it would have required to locate people having sex in a hotel room on Phan Xich Long. Perhaps one day the police will finally manage to discover some motorbikes parked on sidewalks. |

Vietnamese-American man gets suspended sentence for sex with teen girl
CA MAU - Friday, May 06, 2016 12:25 Prosecutors in the southern province of Ca Mau on Thursday said they are reviewing the decision of a local court which chose to hand down a three-year suspended sentence to a businessman after finding him guilty of having sex with a minor. Local media cited several prosecutors and lawyers as saying that the punishment was "too lenient," considering that such a crime often led to a prison term of between seven and 15 years. A court last month gave both Tieu Van Luan, the 57-year-old owner of a large hotel in Ca Mau, and Lam Thi Chau, who brokered the illegal sex service, the same suspended sentence of three years. The panel of judges reportedly cited good family background among factors for the short sentences for both defendants. Prosecutors said Luan paid VND500,000 (US$23) to have sex with a 15-year-old girl at least twice in late May and early June last year. Chau, 39, the owner of a restaurant where the girl worked as a waitress, reportedly brokered the illegal service. The two were arrested in June after the girl's family reported that Chau had kept their daughter against her will. Investigators said the girl began to work at Chau’s restaurant in May. But Chau forced her to do sex work and collected half of the money. The woman claimed that the girl owed her VND7 million and needed to work to pay off the debt. Sex work is illegal in Vietnam. Having sex with a child between 13 and 16 years old is a serious crime punishable by up to 15 years. Procuring sex with those in that age range may also lead to a 15-year jail term.

Hanoi restaurant faces fine for putting waitresses in bikinis By Thuy Hang, Thanh Nien News HANOI - Thursday, May 12, 2016 13:45 Hanoi authorities are considering a fine against a restaurant for putting women in swimwear to serve drinks to customers after several photos of the waitresses went viral. To Van Dong, director of Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said his agency will announce a strong punitive measure, adding that the act was “against Vietnam's traditional culture and fine customs." Images of the waitresses at the restaurant on Tran Thai Tong Street spread on social networks early this week. The waitresses can be seen serving beer and sitting next to the customers. The photos are believed to be taken on Sunday. Lam, the restaurant manager, confirmed that the photos had been taken at his restaurant. However, he claimed that the women were hired by Saigon Beer-Alcohol-Beverage JSC (Sabeco) to promote and boost sales of its own products. He said most of the so-called "promotion girls" were wearing formal clothes except for a few. “The ones in bikinis were here for only one or two minutes. We asked them to cancel the promotional campaign after seeing how they were dressed,” he said. Truong Van Tuan, director of Sabeco’s northern branch, rejected the claim, saying his company had never run such a campaign at the restaurant. Earlier on May 6, Hanoi cultural inspectors issued a fine of VND40 million (US$1,795) against an electronics store for using women in swimwear to promote its business. The managers of Tran Anh electron

The next one is Jan 2015. Funny because there were a few links with that same headline, but from different years (2014, 2015 - and definitely for different news stories). The VN newspapers apparently re-use their headlines. The 2 stories after that with the May 2016 dates are current though. Why do you think D8 and D10 are coming? That would truly be a pity. |
