I'm also interested in Apartment Topics! Since I will be moving permanently to Bangkok within 23 months. Even though, 23 months are far away, I want to start searching now, hate to procrastinate. I'm interested in Oriental Suite, located on Rachada Soi 7, has anyone checked out this apartment? Mothly rate for one bedroom is 20,000B.

My top priority in selecting an apartment in Bangkok is security and proximity to BTS and MRT Stations. Also, I rather pay little bit more to stay at one bedroom than studio.

Any comments or advice will be greatly appreciated!

Currently, how much do you pay for a studio or one bedroom apartment? Where do you live in Bangkok and how's the security in your apartment? How far do you live away from BTS or MRT Station? Also, do you bring working girls to your apartment? When I'm renting apartment in Bangkok, I hope, I never will bring a working girl to my permanent apartment!

i have been to oriental studios, nice place in terms of the proximity to robinsons and shopping mall esplanade. what you see on the 9apartment websites are already furbished, it'll come empty however when you get it, and its den up to you to decorate it :P

nice place. my apartment is thai style, only 4500 and is 1 stop away from oriental suite, 5 mins walk from that statn to my home. and of course! i dont bring working girls to my apartment cuz my wifey's staying in it! dont wanna have my birdy fed to the crows haha

Thanks for your insightful information. I never been to Oriental Suites in person and only saw the website. I don't mind furnishing the apartment with my own money because I can purchase whatever I want to buy interms of my longterm girlfriend's or my taste!

Do you have any Thai friends in your apartment building? Or, do you know your neighbors well or do you socialize with your neighbors? Are other Thai tenants in the building friendly towards you or your wife?

Being friendly towards your Thai neighbors could be catch 22 situation! Since I'm a friendly guy, I will be making friends with my perspective Thai neighbors but I don't know the consequences of making friends. How trustworthly will your Thai neighbors will be and can you really trust your neighbors? In my opinion, these are very important and pertinent issues that we must address in selecting your apartment. What about Thai people that lives around your apartment, are they poor, middle or upper classs? We need take all these consideration is selecting your perspective apartment. Therefore, I have 23 more months in selecting my final resting place in Bangkok! We have to be choosy and don't make any hasty decisions!

I have 4 more trips to Bangkok before permanent settlement. So, I will be booking hotels in Sukhumvit, Silom, River and Victory Monument area. so I have a general idea of where I want to live permanently. Any advice or feedback will be appreciated.

Hmmm, interesting intel here... Can relate to your earlier comparison, when I did a "morning after" despatch to Lad Prao soi 64 last trip. Not bad, bht4k for studio with mini patio, with usual common facilty works. Kns, that can't even pay for a nite's hotel accomodation in sg's 5 star hotel. Nice, quiet neighbourhood, but heck of distance away. Hear it's popular with japs/kor keeping side dish. So yours seems to be a good bet, location wise.

As for your concerns on crows bit, take heart -for some, even the birds even fail to find lil branch to land hehehehe

Checkout this apartment Krongthong Mansion at Intemara soi 47 and next to it is the LA Tower which is much bigger apartment. There is also a Kris Condo two doors away from Watana and next to it is the bigger apartment Kris Express which is under construction. One thing, I couldn't find is where is City Living located in Ratchada in last my trip. Anyone have the address.?

yes infact so, the cleaning lady always see us when we go out in the morning, will stop for a chat, and the door man is obviously interested in my girl cuz when i am around he would droop his head, when im behind or lagging back or buying something, he would steal occasional glances at her haha.

neighbouring shops are ok too, short chats here and there, like the bbq stand everynight and the near by neighbourhood internet cafe
