I really like this discussion forum and would like to thank all of you to contribute and learn. You provided me with a lot of good information in English which I need since I'm Swiss and not Singaporean. I learned to get to know some interesting places during my two years in Shanghai now. I'd like to summarize some of the Sauna places I have been (my favorite places are the ones that are not too crowded with customers).

Cross-Section: Wuzhong Lu X Hongshu Lu (吴中路 X 红许路) based on Beiboy's description - there are three places

-Merrillin Dazong Sauna Club (turn before the entrance to the hotel right). I really like to friendliness of this place - it's very basic and it offers price for value (RMB 600). The girls are not very experienced which I like, they seemed to me more fresh than other places such as 999 or Heting.

-Sky Fortune Sauna next to the Sky Fortune Boutique hotel - just across the street - the recommendation I received of this place is not that good - so I haven't checked it out yet - I might do it one time. I heard the price is also RMB600

-Love Hotel (only in the elevator written!) turn right at the entrance of Sky Fortune Sauna, walk about 30 meters and you see a sign - (probably it says Sauna, but I can't read it and 9 th floor). This place is quite famous for insiders of China - it provides soap and bath service in the room - price was RMB800, more selection of girls and they are pretty but follow the same procedure which is quite nice but it gets boring if you do it a 2nd and a 3rd time so I guess you need to take charge. I will try it out again.

-1856 Sauna at Nanjing Xi Lu (close to Jing An temple). This place is behind the Shanghai No. 1 restaurant (just a name). You tell the guy at bottom of the elevator to have a massage and he will guide you up to the 4th floor which is gaming center, then you walk through the gaming center where a guy will open a big door to the 5th floor. Price RMB750 - again you can get the soap and bath experience - quite nice. They actually show you a Japanese porn the whole time and at the beginning the girl want to provide you with a striptease dance. Not bad even a little bit more expensive but a lot of extras and very safe I would safe because you are ushered there and they have locks everywhere in order to have time for the police to arrive.

-Heting at Siping Lu 777. Nice manager who speaks good English - Good service but too many people and a little bit far away for me.

-999 at Shanghai Stadium - a lot of written - I checked it out once - very crowded - but definitely good service - even the girl said to me 'oh lauwei and told me she doesn't like them much'.

-Happy Garden Sauna - cost is RMB780 - it's quite expensive, crowded and the girls I received were quite big. They gave a good normal massage though. The manager (owner) is from Hong Kong quite arrogant. There are two places one at the intersection yan an lu/fanyu lu (next to the Howard Johnson Suite) hotel, the other at tongren lu next to Malone's (famous pub in Shanghai).

Thanks again for all your contribution and let me know if you like to hit the streets one time, maybe I can join you. I would like to learn more about the great Shanghai undercover life. Also KTV would be interesting to experience once but it needs to be at a reasonable price.

Only been to Shanghai twice,am looking forward to go there this june for the Expo with my wife.Would appreciate very much if any of you brothers can recommend a nice and good value for money 4 or 5 star hotel which is walking distance to a major shopping mall or street vendors stores.

The shopping part is to keep the wife happy,if the hotel is located near any happy ending spa or massage center it would be a added Bonus,oh! food too,any good restaurant to recommend will be greatly appreciated too.

went to 畅安阁 chang4 an1 ge2, which was mentioned quite some time ago in this thread. walked pass last time but never enter b4.

was exploring ard 大木桥 and 小木桥 roads, but didnt see much action spots. so went down to 畅安阁 which is near 上海体育场站 Shanghai Stadium Station (not the indoor stadium station). same as 999 Amazing expo has created so many more metro stations! shanghai city is really very connected now.. only some of the walks at the interchange is a bit long..

take the east exit, walk down til u reach 双峰路 or something like that, then reaching a T junction will bring u to 斜土路. Turn right, less than 10 metres is the place.
