Dude , i only speak what i think , if you aren't happy with it , it is the same don't bother to read and reply. Beh gam tia mai tia lor. I can easily explain in plain maths , though i am not expecting anyone to bother anyway. 1. Hotel in D1 = ranging from USD$30-300 depending on where you are staying. I have stayed at cavalier , Sheraton suites , they can easily cost you 300 per night. If you are what you claim this is nothing though probably you cannot bring girls into those hotels and probably have to spend another 30 to book another elsewhere , 300 USD would be half of the 600. 2. Eye candy massages : easily costing more than 40 USD , reason hair wash , massage 200-400k depending on rooms , ear digging 50~100k , tips 300~500k depending on stupidity. Easily 1mil dong or 40 USD 3. Food : cheap 100k~200k can easily settle a good meal in simple place and it can go up to 80 USD in places like Ocean palace (one of the best places for xiu yok) for a meal for 2. OR 40 per person. 4. Discos and bars : depends on what drinks , since you claim you are a high roller - easily a bottle of liquor which can easily cost you ranging from 2~4 mil and include tips and stuff , you probably need at least 2.5mil or 100~130 USD. Assuming if you go KTV above the disco trips it would probably you need to double this amount. 5. Takeaways : ranging from 60 USD (st) to 3mil and more for longer. So 600sgd is probably ok , it can easily be USD $600. Dude , you wanna go china by all means no one is stopping you. You probably enjoy more since i assume you can speak chinese and there would be more interaction as compared to a chicken and duck in hcmc. Want budget play just admit you want budget don't come here act like some big shot complain about the prices when one needs to spend this kind of amounts. Am i smart ? I don't think so , at least i won't tell people i can go around without help end up asking questions here ? Stupid or not all here can see for themselves?

Re: Vietnam - HCM (Thread 3)
Guess u have not been to HCMC too long.... There a lot good decent hotels which are less than USD 30 in D1, not run down at all, better than hotel 81 in Geylang I used to stay in decent hotel for less than USD 20.

Re: Vietnam - HCM (Thread 3)
True indeed.
Stayed in a standard room costing 14 USD. TV with cable channels, hot water, A/C and clean bed. May look run down for a local city guy whose constituency have repainting every election from the outside but inside no lah.

Re: Vietnam - HCM (Thread 3)
My two cents worth about d12, i dont think its helps ANYONE by talking abt the possibilities of d12 rather the realistic probability. Lets not dance around the issue, but the most logical reason he is staying out there is because he follow a girls he knows from jo chiat or a KTV. He has asked her to organise a hotel for him and since she stgay out there she will book hotel near here. He plans to eat steal and so come here asking for lobang.
IF anyone one here has actually been out there and driven the streets, you would know that a. the hotels dont have a bell boy, and if there is such a thing the certainly dont organise girls like they do in d1 regardless how friendly they are, secondly its not even easy to organise a taxi in that area unless u starnd around teh area of bx an suong, so to find a friendly taxi driver is another problem, thirdly the english speak girls who have attended schools, they may live out there but they will be working is district one where they can actually use these skills and make money from it, they certainly wouldnt be working in a cafe om, massage parlour. The next issue applies to all the old birds who are making these suggestions, who seruiously has cheong in d12 or go vap , i have and i can tell u they werent easy to find, i had to drive down a long road maybe 3-4km from the bx an suong...corect me if im wrong most of what has been quoted is pure speculation or heresay, none have actually experienced it. I have experienced it and even though i have lived here since 2008 much like the others, i can definately say that i am not as familiar with d12 as with the other districts. So frankly its ridiculous to suggest to a newbie to go to d12/go vap, without a bike, without knowledge of vice areas to look out for, without vietnamese language to find thinsg in 1 week, what these seniors DONT know first hand after living here for 5-6 yrs. I think yes in not the TS so i have no right to say much, but surely if this thread is to help others, like the hippocratic oath, do no harm if you dont want to help. Ill be the first to admit im not the most helpful, but neither do i see the need to mislead. The suggestion that he can stay in d12 then go to ngueyn thai son and ngueyn oanh, shit those are on complete different sides of the airport, if you do that you might as well live in phu nhuan. Finally if finding pussy was as simple as asking a friendly local then we wouldnt need all these sex forums and we would be neck deep in pussy, what the most likely scenario is teh friendly local would take him and he would be nicely chopped and the price would be much greater than what he would have been chopped in district 1, or they wouldnt just understand him, id be interested in know the form of teh question "excuse me laa...boom boom suck sucky five dolla where la" I mean whats the reality if u cant find a friendly expat singaporean to guide him whats the chance of finding a local with suffient skill to even know what he looking for, and if the answer is that money can solve anything...well tehre are enuff dodgy clones who willing to profiteer. Re: Vietnam - HCM (Thread 3)
HCMC - The Accidental Traveller.
DaLat's story. After leaving HCMC in June; I somehow find myself in HCMC again after 2 months apart. Never expect to step foot into HCMC again in such a short time space. I touch down HCMC for one and only reason, for someone whom miss me. I have never expect anyone will miss me so much after seeing me for 2 days back in June. And yes; how time fly when you are enjoying life to the fullest. Day 1 - 3am (somewhere in Singapore) Afraid to miss the early flight to HCMC; I find myself sleepless in Singapore. Not something that happen to me very often as I always find myself a person whom have everything in life to live for. After the perfect 100 minutes flight I touch down to a place dear to my heart and yet this is only the second time I step foot in Vietnam. I have been study Vietnam Economy, Housing, Currency, People and culture after I left HCMC in June. My character is not those type that will waste time on a subject I do not love; hence I must confess I do love Vietnam dearly. After I walk thru the custom swiftly; I board my Vinasun cab and reach my hotel around 10:30am in the morning. My hotel surrounding resemble a place which James Bond may choose to rest after a gun shot wound. There I met my dear friend whom open my eye to HCMC; with the name similar to that of a famous Chinese director. To me he is the director of the movie I am living in during my stay in HCMC. And just like a director important role; a movie will never be possible without him. We walk toward our favourite Wanton noodle store to have our breakfast and my Vietnamese coffee. And without even having a chance to catch up with both our life story; my director phone rang and was told my best actress is already waiting for me anxiously at my hotel lobby.

Re: Vietnam - HCM (Thread 3)
Day 1 - 11am
After a quick shave at our manly barber shop which cost a mere (S$0.90); me and Mr H (director H88) walk toward our hotel. And at the lobby sit 2 ladies; Mr H's darling and my queen of Heart. My Queen is a bit shy after not seeing me for past 2 months; but after some eye contact and body language thing start to warm up nicely. As a man; some showering of small gifts are not a request but I believe it should be a requirement. With her was a huge backpack full of travelling gears and I am glad she brought those along as that signal she will accompany me till the time we travel to the Romantic Da Lat. The place they call the Paris of Vietnam; and truly a place to fall in love.
