Hi Hurricane88 and vietboy. Vietnamese, Indian, Myanmarese and Filipino medical doctors trained in their medical schools in universities in their home countries are allowed to practise in Singapore. So decrees our Ministry of Health (Singapore). Some Vietnamese doctors in Singapore can hardly speak adequate English. Just visit the local polyclinics and privatised Government hospitals. Some of their medical university degrees are from universities with questionable educational standards. I am quite sure there will be a few medical malpractice cases involving them in future. I fear that some that will cause the deaths of patients.
There are a few Opthamologists from India working in Khoo Teck Phut Hospital. They are good doctors.

There is an ongoing court case where a Singaporean Chinese man (senior management level) who worked in the property line went for a liposuction. (I did not think he looked fat in his photos). He died. The anaesthetist is a Myanmarese woman. The doctor is another Singaporean Chinese man.

U sounded like the realeastateguy, so prejudiced against foreigners.
R u trying to say our medical system has flaws by allowing foreigner doctors by practicing here?
Aiyoh, after so many years and seeing so many foreigners coming into Singapore, i am so used to it roi. No use complaining. Singaporeans just got to upgrade ourselves to compete with these inflows. I cannot complain about New Citizens as my wife is also new citizen, you cannot complain about foreigners, as your viet spouse is also foreigner... so let it be. We are also foreigners in Vietnam.

Then again, the doctor is singaporean chinese. That guy died of mistreatment from the singaporean chinese doctor not the Myanmarese anaesthetist. So u still think singaporeans doctor r better than foreigner doctors?

To be true, the public health system is not as efficient as before. There are many reasons behind it, the surging population, the lack of medical professionals etc. Good Singaporean doctors do not like to stay in public service as they can earn more in private practise. For example, my dad got admitted into hospital recently for an emergency. We didn't want him to go public hospital to wait, so he went to Gleneagles. A major surgery plus all others... a whopping S$75k gone. Medical fees are surging year after year, so i learn to buy medical insurance for my family members. In today's world, cannot do without medical insurance, you just won't know when you will need medical care.

yah, correct. The only money that cannot be save is medicical fees especially when one grow old.Nowadays everywhere is money, even young doctor just want to profit.I went to a old doctor clinic and a age 30 plus doctor clinic and the different for the same sickness and medicine can come up to a different of $10.Both are on the same block neighbourhood area
My dad went for an operation at gleanagle last year, indeed nowadays the amount u pay for the standard and service cannot really compare 10 years ago.Drop a lot.For 20k for operation and stay,my dad was put in a 4 bed ward and the space for each bed can only put one chair.

nowadays doctor only interested in profit.Look through the paper and u will know how many doctors have break the medical rules nowadays.from asking his nurse to alter customer medical report to unauthorise access to patient record.

For those brothers who doesn't know, majority of Vietnamese are covered under healthcare insurance. When they are admitted to public hospital, they need not pay as insurance pays most. They only need to pay a bit for medicine. So if any of your VB or VS(Viet Spouse) ask you for a large amount of money for their parent's medical bills, tell them go fly kite.
