Re: Thai Amulets...

Hi All,

Just saw it from the BBC News update that a mentally ill muslim man vandalised the Brahma Statue at the Erawan Shrine in BKK & got himself killed by the people there. Sad to know this had happened cos who knows there might be revenge from the muslim cos there are now still fighting in the South between the Buddhist & the Muslim.

Let's hope PEACE prevails & all Brothers & Sisters live in harmony.

Cheers,

Below is the report from the BBC News:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/4827660.stm

Bangkok shrine attacker is killed
A Muslim man has been beaten to death in Thailand after attacking a Hindu shrine in the capital, Bangkok.
The man - who is reported to suffer from mental health problems - was set upon after smashing a statue of the Hindu deity, Brahma.

Two men, reportedly cleaners at the shrine, have been arrested.

The Erawan shrine, built 50 years ago, is a popular site with tourists and devotees, who pay musicians and dancers to celebrate wishes granted there.

Police said that Thanakorn Pakdeepol, 27, broke into the shrine, which houses a four-faced statue of Brahma, early on Tuesday morning.

He used a hammer to destroy the deity, before being attacked by several men.

Pakdeepol's father told Reuters news agency that his son had been in and out of mental hospitals for the past decade.

The shrine was built in 1956 to ward off bad luck from the nearby Erawan hotel, where the foundation stone had been laid on an inauspicious day.

Thousands of Thais visit the shrine every day and return with gifts when they believe their wishes have been granted.

Re: Thai Amulets...

It is a LP Thuad. LP Thuad is a well-respected monk in Thailand. When he passed away, he made a vow saying that whoever wears his amulets, be it old batch, new batch, fake amulets or authentic ones, it will protect them from harm.

You may want to read his biography here: http://www.siamamulets.com/showthread.php?t=79

I believe alot in LP Thuad cos he saved my brother's life twice in accident and prevented my car accident once.

Regards

Cheers,

I got this general Khun Paen Katha from a friend:

Su Na Mo Ro
Mae Tat Di Put Toh
Bhuddang Phra Sit Di Mae
Dhammang Phra Sit Di Mae
Sangkang Phra Sit Di Mae

As there are many different kathas for Khun Paen, it is very difficult to verify which is the right one to chant (perhaps the more experienced bros might know), hence this is a general one..
