I was chatting with a friend and she told me that she managed to rent a nice furnished studio above Rainbow Department store for RMB 550/month - even nicer than the one she had previously for 1,300.

But the landlord refused to sign for any longer than 6 months - I guess there ARE still some who are still hopeful about Chang Ping!

And its good that there ARE some ladies returning!

Wow we can start renting them ... all we need to do is to stay more than 2 days a month you would already have earned (cheaper than hotel).

Yes, definitely a great deal to rent an apartment in CP now and safer as far as LE actions is concerned; and of course way more convenient having your own place.

The problem is of course that I think there's not much left there to make us want to go, unless you do have your own "supply." Also, these buildings in CP are now so bereft of occupants that it's kinda spooky - too many dark corners and unoccupied units and too many starving people there now.

And who knows when a girl you are with is gonna turn against you - no hotel security and unlike in hotels, can't just switch to another room.

Personally, I prefer to wait and see what develops first.

Amazing - only the eighth day and 5 are already back and a few others chatting with me about doing so; even that hg I had just once in Hong Kong who swore that she'll never go back!

None of them seems to have any hard and fast plans but just thinks that since there is going to be so few competing girls coming back, that they'll have an easy time of it.

Also turns out that the grass is not all that green closer to home! The nascent "entertainment" scene in less urban areas has apparently also been cracked down upon.

Gotta hand it to our ever resourceful and never-say-die syt's.

Traditionally, Chinese New Year festivities end on the 15th day of the New Year, which this year falls on March 5 – after which comes the mad rush for workers to go back to their work places.

In my discussions with the girls, one of the things that just about all of them mentioned are tempting offers by Mommies/managers about higher rates and higher cut of the take for them; this is disturbing as IMHO, a prime reason why girls flock to this area is the relatively larger number of customers all headed here – and of course one reason mongers come is the relatively cheaper rates.

These operators promising Shenzhen/Shanghai pricing could be the actual turning point for the fate of CP/HZ/DS, because then there would hardly be any reasons left for mongers to still favor this area; given similar pricing, why would mongers still come to CP/HZ/DS when even better infrastructure for an enjoyable mongering holiday is already there in Shenzhen, Foshan/Guangzhou and of course Zhuhai. HZ/DS really got nothing much.

Another one of the highlights of CP had been that just about everything that a monger needs was there – Quantity/quality/price levels of services, ease of transportation within and into, ancillary provisions like footsies, restaurants, malls, cheap/quality accommodations even golf etc. – and they just are not all there in the much-touted “New CP” village of HZ/DS.

But then again, who’s to know given the resilience of the Chinese people and their ways of doing business.

One swallow doth not maketh Spring…. but perhaps all is not lost!
I’d be happy just with BBBJCIM!
