The theory is clear and simple, not the Iranian missile which got the airliner, because they are definitely not fired from near their capital airport to engage US bases in Iraq. They are IRBMs designed NOT TO SHOOT PLANES DOWN but shooting at GROUND TARGETS ONLY.

The theory is even clearer when we know that US was attempting to shoot down in-coming Iranian missiles. So they aim anti-air missiles and radar at ANYTHING FLYING FROM IRAN TOWARDS IRAQ. These missiles are made to SHOOT DOWN...
