Re: Airbnb
Read the house rules of the listing you intend to book. Most are ok so long you stick to the max occupancy of the listing and don't disturb the neighbours.

Re: Airbnb
If you book the whole place, the host will not even be there and usually they are okay if you want to bring guests in. I booked a penthouse somewhere before and had 12 pax although the host indicated 8-10 pax only. Took his place for 10 days.
Thailand or Bali would be good to use Airbnb and organize a good party. :P

As long as no neighbor complains then everything will be fine else u will be asked to leave in the middle of the night or police will be involved. I myself will not want different strangers beside my room. I will definitely lodge a complaint. If it is stand alone house then different story. You can do whatever u want. Anyway, I cannot accept the fact of renting my house or condo on daily basic to stranger whom I dunno.... no law is protecting my rights if anything happens.

Re: Airbnb
Yes, what Naemlo said, in the condos I'm staying in and used to stay in, both have signs up at the lifts or entrances warning against day or week rentals, and even call for people to report if they suspect a unit is being rented out as such.
Of course the reality is most security guards do not know, and they would smile and/or greet you when you enter, especially if your condo has high traffic in and out. Neighbours tend to keep to themselves as long as you don't make too much noise; but if you are going to take a lady back, do know that most Thai walls are thin. What happens if you get caught? I'm guessing the onus is placed on the landlord, but hey, as they say here, TiT, and I wouldn't assume. If it's a short trip and you do not intend to get a house, just book a hotel and safe yourself the hassle, I'd say. |

Re: Airbnb
Unless you are staying in a 1st class city like New York, London, Dubai etc... where hotels are super expensive, what is the advantage of AirBnb in a third world country like Thailand?
Hotels in Thailand are super cheap, convenient, secure, 24hr reception/service and girl-friendly. In my experience researching AirBnB, they are not cheaper than any 2/3 star hotel, and do not provide Breakfast, safety box, or concierge service. You also dun know if they properly cleaned the place, provide clean sheets, and how neighbors react. Plus you have the hassle of having to coordinate with owner to pickup the key and dropoff, and may be located in a small residential alley hard to find and far from BTS station. On top of all this, as in Naemlo's post in Thailand it may be illegal to rent an apartment daily, thus neighbors may complain and Police come. AirBnB is very overrated and has more disadvantages compared to staying in a well run hotel of similar cost. The only place i would consider AirBnB is in a very expensive 1st class city, or Vietnam where it is illegal to bring Lady back to your hotel room. |

Re: Airbnb
for 2-5 days i rather stay in hotels
for 1 week or more, airbnb will be better choice if you go in group of more than 7 ppl, then airbnb is always the better choice |
