Mr Huang Chuncai, a 37-year-old Hunan province native, lies on a bed as doctors prepare for a surgery to remove tumours from his face at a hospital in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, on Dec 25, 2013. The surgery on Wednesday successfully removed a part of Mr Huang's tumors which weighs about 1.5kg on the left cheek. In order to get to a healthy condition, he is expected to have two more surgeries, local media reported. Mr Huang Chuncai, a 37-year-old man from a remote village in China's south-central Hunan province, has an extreme case of neurofibromatosis. He first noticed a tumour on his face when he was only four years which later developed into a 15kg massive growth, according to the Daily Mail. Neurofibromatosis is a genetic disorder of the nervous system that primarily affects the development and growth of nerve tissues. Over the years, the tumours have grotesquely disfigured him, stunted his growth and deformed his spine which caused him breathing problems. With 500,000 yuan (S$104,505) raised from donors, Mr Huang underwent an operation - his third - at a hospital in the neighbouring Guangdong province on Dec 25 and got rid of a 1.5kg tumour on his left cheek, the China Daily reported. Doctors say Mr Huang is making good recovery and will need at least two more operations. - See more at: http://www.stasiareport.com/the-big-....Xe5Uv15z.dpuf Click here to view the whole thread at www.sammyboy.com. |
