It’s a collection of useful items for life with a newborn child. Even the box itself can be used as a crib! Today, in response to curiosity about the box, Reddit user GrumpyFinn posted photos of her opening her own Maternity Box. The results: awesome! This is such a great idea! In Finland, every pregnant woman gets a free Maternity Box. This couple picked up theirs from the Post Office. Even their cat Simba was excited.  User “GrumpyFinn” This is the box itself, removed from the cardboard…  User “GrumpyFinn” … and here is the box once it’s opened.  User “GrumpyFinn” Each box comes with a brand new snow suit, hat, mittens, and a “warm body suit”.  User “GrumpyFinn” It also includes a sleeping bag and sheet.  User “GrumpyFinn” Also in the box: Hats, balaclava, pads, socks, and tights. The small bag has a little book, a toy, condoms, and some other small baby hygiene products.  User “GrumpyFinn” There’s a cloth diaper, and a towel, but the rest is almost all clothing in various styles and forms, all gender-neutral. The bottom of the box is also a mattress, so the baby is able to use it as a bed at the beginning of her life.  User “GrumpyFinn” The user who first posted this photo gallery also commented that “all of the clothes are very high quality, and a good chunk of what came in the box was made in Finland or by Finnish companies.” This is such a great idea! There are so many challenges that come with being a new parent, and it’s cool to see Finland express its support for mothers in this way.
