What's the syntoms of STDs, HIVs and AIDs?

Hi bros,
I'm just curious and wana know what's the syntoms of STDs, HIVs and AIDs (if there's any) ? If a person is infected, what's the period of time that he/she would know that he/she is infected? Do private family clinics provide tests and checkups for STDs, HIVs and AIDs? Is there any medications, drugs or cure for STDs, HIVs and AIDs currently?

Sometimes STDs don't have symptoms until they've become a big problem.
Sometimes STDs have symptoms that mimic other diseases.
Sometimes you will have more than one STD at the same time. If you try to self medicate you may mask the one's you didn't treat and screw-up a proper diagnosis.

If you think you might be infected, see a doctor. He can run tests to be sure.

Each STD has it's own unique symptoms.

It is also possible to have an STD with no symptoms whatsoever. For example, people who are infected with the Genital Herpes and Wart Virus seldom show any symptoms.

It is estimated that more than 50% of prostitutes are infected with Herpes type 2 (genital herpes). Genital wart infection rates among whores are even higher.. probably close to 80%.... but the majority of these infections are asymptotic.

HIV infections are asymptotic. You won't know if a person is infected until they start coming down with opportunistic infections caused by a breakdown of the immune system.

The only way to know whether one has been infected with an STD is to perform the necessary tests. However, even blood tests do not reveal genital warts and herpes infections. More advanced tests are required.

Hi bro HunterXXX,

some STDs have no cure. 1 I know is herpes (or known as cold sores or HSV). As for HIV, confirm no cure at the moment, thought there are drugs that may slow down the spread of virus.

If you are in doubt, please visit your doctor or go for anonymous HIV testing at DSC.

Hi HunterXXX, do refer to the various other threads in this forum to know more about the symptoms of the various STDs, HIV and AIDS. Once exposed to the risk of contracting the HIV virus, it takes about 3 weeks to 3 months (or more for some) for the body to develop the HIV antibodies, and this is what we test for at the Anonymous HIV Test. This is commonly known as the window period. Some private clinics do provide tests and checkups for STDs, HIV and AIDS, but once you are tested positive, your records will be known. There are medications available to treat STDs, and drugs to be taken by HIV+ people to delay the onset of AIDS.

You should go for anonymous HIV testing at DSC if you do not wish to have your name submitted.

1. no.. the HIV screening test doesnt test for STDs

2. it will depends on the type of STDs. certain one like..Syphilis needs to be test thru blood... not necessary on other like WARTS and lice..
