SINGAPORE: Tanjong Katong Primary School presented a new award to students who were caught in the earthquake on Mount Kinabalu during their expedition in June this year.

On Thursday (Nov 19), the school presented the "TKP Braveheart Award" to 29 students, to recognise their courage, resilience and teamwork during the earthquake.

However, only 22 students were present to receive the award in person.

"For the seven students who are not with us today, the TKP Braveheart Award is presented posthumously, to honour the spirit which the children had shown in undertaking the expedition to Mount Kinabalu, where they had stretched and challenged themselves to achieve their personal best," said principal Caroline Wu.

"All 29 students truly embodied the true spirit of TKP."
