Re: About air tickets to Bangkok

walao... bro..

search website for tiger, jetstar, airasia. Book for weekday flight, less than $100. But must use credit card to pay. If lazy dont mind spend bit more $, go to nearest travel agency ask them get for you.

Budget Airlines:
- AirAsia : http://www.airasia.com
- JetStarAsia : http://www.jetstarasia.com
- Tiger Airways : http://www.tigerairways.com

Just my small advise... SOMETIMES you can get International flights which are only slightly more expensive (less than $50 difference) or maybe cheaper than budget airlines. Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways, Cathay Pacific, Garuda Indo, etc... Of course, there are night flights such as Finnair, Swiss Air... You can check them out at http://www.zuji.com.sg

U can also buy normal flight ticket that allows changing of returning date. U have to check with the travel agency whether the ticket u bought allow amendment to the date of return. If not, request for 1 that allows u. Might be a bit more ex.

Bro, the way this 1 yr ticket works is that u need to give a date u want to go and return but the dates can be change anytime before flying. Best is u confirm the date u want to return 1 or 2 weeks prior, to make sure there is seat on the date u wanted. Got it?

Under the NEW visa regulation, effective from 1 October 2006, you will NOT be able to extend your stay in Thailand EVERY MONTH.

Upon initial entry into Thailand you will be given a 30-days visa which can be extend by another 30-days for 2 more times, giving you a maximum stay of 90-days. After that you will NOT be allowed to enter Thailand for another 90-days, i.e. you can only stay for a maximum of 3 months in a period of 6 months.

Read the report below for more info ( Posting # 1574 ) :-

Report from Bangkok Post dated Saturday 16 september 2006 :-

Thailand has announced visa regulations for tourists limiting visitors to a maximum stay of 90 days every six months, in an effort to put prevent foreigners from remaining in the kingdom on a long-term basis.

Immigration Police Chief Lieutenant General Suwat Thamrongsrisakul said the new enforcement was aimed at blocking foreigners who created social problems and posed internal security treats from living in the country indefinitely.

"Some people were using the loopholes in the old regulations to work in Thailand, while others were staying here to engage in criminal activities," said Suwat.

Under the old system, foreigners from 41 countries that have good relations with Thailand, were granted 30-day tourist visas that could be extended twice within the country.

With a quick trip abroad, one could pick up another tourist visa and thereby live in Thailand on an annual basis.

There is a heavy flow of foreigners living in Thailand to neighbouring countries such as Cambodia, Laos and Malaysia on cheap "visa runs."

Under the new system to go into effect on Oct 1, nationals from the same 41 countries will be allowed 30-day tourist visas which may be extended twice, after which the tourists will have to stay out of Thailand for at least 90 days before returning again.

The 41 favoured countries include most European nations, China, Japan, Canada, the United States and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations among others.

"Tourists (from the 41 countries) will not be allowed to stay in Thailand more than 90 days every six months," said a statement issued by the Immigration Department.

Nationals from other countries are only allowed 30-day tourist visas, non-extendable in the country.

The new regulation will likely affect hundreds of English-language teachers who work semi-legally in Thailand, and other foreigners working in Thailand without the requisite working papers.

Re: About air tickets to Bangkok

I flew from spore to bangkok today on Tiger. One was was less than S$100 with all taxes. The seats are small and close together but for a 2.5 hour flight it isn't bad. I have found that it is the cheepest around. But remember that the new airport opens on the 28th and it is about 1.5 hours out of town.
