Calling home from Shenzhen

would apprec your advise on what phone nos (cheaper rates) should I dial from Shenzhen to call Singapore than the normal international call nos, such using + then country code...

Yoz brother, you can get the Tie Tong Card (17990). you should be able to get it at $100 Free $200.....Total $300.....

Calling sg or malaysia cost $2.40 per min. calling HK at $0.80

Price quoted in RMB

Our friend is asking calling from SZ(china) to Spore and not the other way round. Where got "wu di" card in China.

First, if it's calling from a HP, we need to buy a China card...there are many types. I suggest the " Shen Zhou" card. But make sure it's a Shen Zheng card. Using Sintel roaming service even with *121* will cost you a bomb...

The most convenient way is dial "17909" follow by 0065XXXX which is equil to out "019" ...which is still quite expensive though cheaper than you dial 0065 XXXX.

The other cheaper way i know is to buy a calling card which you need to dial "17951" followed by a 10 digit numbers followed by 0065 XXXX. To start off a 100rmb card can be purchased for half the price that is 50rmb. The dialing part which included the 10 diit can be programed into the handphone...
But then the cost is still quite high at 1.80rmb plus 0.60rmb local charge thus total 2.40rmb (S$0.48) per minute. This is much cheaper than the Singtel roaming charge of calling at about S$2.00 per minute.

A cheaper way, of course is to send a sms costing around S$0.50 to your love ones to call you from Spore using a calling card.

This is to best of my knowledge.

You are right...use "Skype" if you carry a Notebook with you Broad connection is preferable, dail up also can ..sound qaulity not so good. It's E$ 0.025 (about S$0.05) per minute....when calling to telephone or HP fm China to Spore. FOC for PC to PC talk....

Bro M, you seem to follow the postings here very closely....so when you coming over ? But please dont do it during thr the Chinese New year period, many of us will be back to Sland on home leave and traveling around here will be a "pain" during the festive season.....

The sauna in SZ the very most offer HJ....i dont know of any that "officially" offer FJ...on the side line you may be able to get them.....

For BBS, there is some near the Walmart in Fuxing Road. The place got some major raid over the last few months and many have shifted into the smaller lanes. Go venture there, i'm sure you can find them.

The other major bbs area to go is the "Sha Tsui" aka Sand mouth. Any taxi driver will know that. Go read the reports by Bro CB juiceYS in the other SZ thread. He's the expert in this area.

that can't be free...if ur hp is a SZ no then SG will be calling IDD, if yours is a SG hp, then SG will still call u on IDD plus u pay roaming too..

China side use local "popular" card which is incoming call free, Sg side use calling card which is S$10 for approx. 300 mins.
