This is a rather interesting thread. I do cheong with my kakis previously but due to commitment in life they have to stop. Since this bro mentioned. I come to think...yes it's correct. I think there is no need to deposit 100. It's too expensive for some of the ktv that they intend to go. But maybe they did refund the balance or they did order more drinks?
Something I think if you are a regular anywhere & the owner is kind enough sometime you get free 1 jug etc.
Recently I thought of joining this bro organiser. But I pull hand brake

Also think this thread is a nice one to warn cheonging Khaki of the pitfalls and also unscrupulous people. It's all about sharing experience.

Think it's wise for you to pull your hand brake. Also agree $100 for deposit is really too high since a large room package with 8 jugs is only $500 maximum. The joint proposed are not the high-end kind.

The last I went to NSH alone last year, its about S$90 HH, 2 jugs. Even though when you go to this kind alone, likely you will be swarmed and end up paying a lot more tips. For the record, I paid S$180 (9), but I think the maximum time spent by any single girl is 20 mins. Minimum - 5 mins. Pros and cons, but eye opener.

Just setting a reference point, if 1 person is $90, why the hell do you want to go in group and pay $100? Thought the idea of cheonging together is for the company and also the splitting of bill?

Some point to take note, some ktv offer 1 + 1 free bottle on next visit. That is to said, if going with not so transparent organiser, he will open the free bottle(fr last visit) first & later order another bottle due to group size, many Bros might think the billing is 2 bottles for the night, which in actual fact is paying only 1 bottle(if you don't get to see the bill as I believe many Bros base on trust/happy & half sober). The cycle repeat itself with 1 free bottle for the next visit.

I've been organizing regular trips to Verge recently and I collect deposit of $60/px but most time the actual amount is less than that I'll do refund. It's not unreasonable in my opinion that the organizer gets a markup of $5 from each of the participant for a small room or medium package (never organize large room before and probably won't).

Reasons being:
1) If one of the bro suddenly fly aeroplane at the 11th hour, the organizer would have to bear the additional costs if he can't find replacement (might be partially covered by the deposit).

2) And if any bro MIA (not just new participant, some regulars can pull this stunt too) during the session and he has sat with 2-4 gals, who's going to bear the costs? The gals are here to earn a living and as the organizer, you will have to bear the costs and give a token sum to the gals and in this case, you have to give about $30 to each gal (based on Verge gal tips of $50), which means min. of $60 out of your own pocket (these unsteady dudes usually sit 3-4 gals). Some bros might disagree on paying tips to these gals but my take is that they have provided a service and we have to pay for it and this is the risk that organizers have to bear.


So the markup of $5-$10 is just basic risk management and i hope bros can understand that. I've encounter bros who niggle with me coz they have to pay $5-$10 more and you guess it, I've told them not to join my outing in the future please.

I've no interest to make $$$ out from organizing outings but a small markup above the shared cost price is just to safeguard myself against the unsteady dudes who should be ashamed of themselves!
