(funny thing is....in my 1 cent opinion....this report ah............................. is it giving an impression that s'pore is at fault that women are force into this trade....)

A news report by the Al Jazeera new network reveals the shocking truth on how prostitution thrives in Singapore.

STOMPer kepalapusingpusing, who came across the video on YouTube, said the video was posted on November 23, and it sheds light on facts about the world's oldest trade here, which are not widely known by Singaporeans.

The news report reveals how Singapore, one of Asia's most modern and affuent countries in Asia, 'sinks into the depths of sin and sleaze' in certain areas, when nighttime comes.

It says the existence of women of all ages from countries like Indonesia, Vietnam, China and Thailand flooding the red light districts, offering sex for sale, is a sign of economic problems engulfing Asia and the desperation of women.

The main issue, according to the report, with regard to the prostitution in Singapore, is determining which women are doing it voluntarily and which are victims of sex trafficking.

To highlight this, the report tells the story of Angel, who was lured to a bar with a promise of a high salary.

However, she later discovered that this was a lie, and she, like other women in the same boat, were forced to have sex with customers to pay off her 'boss'.

She says many women forced into prostitution keep their plight a secret for fear of being harmed by their pimps.

The report also says the United States has criticised Singapore for not doing enough to combat sex trafficking, putting it in the same category as countries such as Cambodia and Sierra Leone.

The report adds that although the gangs and syndicates operating the prostitution rings are very serious about this lucrative business, Singapore is 'not yet that serious' in looking into the matter.

Even our local gals willingly sell their bodies as it's easy $. Who is forcing who?

Who the fuck is united states to condemn singapore for not doing anything,its usually their people who go poorer south east asian countries and pay to fuck young teen gals.Their cheeby people started it.No demand where got supply.As if their country got no pros ah.

2 my encounters,nwadays mostly knew wat they r doing b4 they came here.
Some only knew they r in the flesh trade b4 they came here,but didn't knw they hv 2 do alot of hardwork 2 please the customer.

Whether the story told by angel is real or not no 1 knws(only she knws,if she really exist).
Some ppl like 2 lie 2 get in2 the spotlight, in tis case it shall be behind the spotlight.

Thats the problem with americans, they think they are the world's policeman, but we din ask them to be in the first place. Look, i am all for standing up for the smaller guy but when they try to tell you how to upkeep your house...thats why i draw the line.

Which is why, i super love the way china does things.

AND not that i agree with the hatred and ways osama is doing to show his displeasure with america, BUT i understand.

i think they know what they r getting into...i ever heard them commend they realised here not so easy to earn from protitution or they complain not enough cutomers...doesnt sound forced to me...

Every person leads their own life.Every girl is different. Being the other party certainly does not give us the privilage to tell who is wrong or right . Prostitution has always been the oldest profession and has experienced it highs and lows thru time. variety is what prostitution offers and with it comes its colourful characters. there will always be two sides of a coin and stories will always be told. I am just happy to be a participant in prositution rich history.

The western are the one that pass their judgement before looking at themselves. When the Indo govt is saving the country biz, they said cannot. Should let biz handle themselves. Now IMF and US govt are saving their MNC and said can we not save them?

..what I'm more concerned about is that Al Jazeera is Al Qaida's & Osama's news network of course. They will take whatever news they receive as objective truth. As justification for creating violence in Singapore.

Actually prostitution help reducing the crime rate of molest & rape.....

Imagine Sillipore no prostitutes....... Where the hell those single man/ sailors who dock in our port gonna release.......

I once heard many years back.... People Republic of China ex-premier Yang Shang Kun 杨尚昆 visited Sillipore. He asked our Sillipore garment official accompanying him if there is prostitution here.......

Our official replied yes.............. Its controlled within some specific areas and the girls are screened regularly.........

Why are we doing so!!!!!!!! Controlling them is better than letting them go "underground" where there isn't any control..........

But now with the great influx of the FL in this Sillipore island............ The great plan of "control" is getting out of control.........

Most gals never been forced into prostitution. They are willing to come here to provide service, at HC or FL, or thru legal brothel, KTV lounges.

As for US 'kaypohness', well, our defence are somewhat dependent on US who provide the best weaponry (Apache helicopter gunships, Eagle fighter planes, and Falcon fighter planes) and military trainings, and it was because of US that Internet existed. Nowadays, US is weakened because many countries, Japan, Korea, Europe, had decided that US should not be calling the shots because they felt that they dont need US to defend them from ex-Soviet Union.

As for late Yang Shangkun, he was not the premier but a President of PRC.
