Two men attacked by a group of armed robbers after withdrawing money

JOHOR BARU: Two men working for a money changing outlet here, were robbed by a group of four men armed with parangs after they had withdrawn money from a bank at 4.40pm today.

Johor Baru South police chief Assistant Commissioner Sulaiman Salleh said the incident took place at the carpark of the Larkin Bus and Taxi terminal here.
Sulaiman said the victims, a 34-year old security guard and a 22-year old cashier were carrying two bags of cash amounting to RM297,045.

"The suspects' car had blocked the victims' Proton Wira at the car park. The suspects all wearing masks, got out of the car and threw curry powder at the victims," he said.
He said the security guard was later slashed by the suspects before they made off with the bags containing the cash.
He said the security guard is now receiving treatment at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital.
Sulaiman said two men aged between 20 and 30 have been arrested to assist in the investigation.

He said the case is being investigated under Section 394 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery.
