Race goers can also have the convenience of using the MRT as operating hours of public transport services will be extended further this year. Roads Open during Traffic Peak Hours To facilitate morning and evening peaks, the following road corridors will be opened at selected hours during the six-day closure period: Wednesday to Friday (17-19 September), from 5.30am to 9.30am
Members of the public are encouraged to use the public transport during the road closure period. For those who wish to drive, they can access the developments and shopping centres in the Marina Centre area through a single-lane road from Nicoll Highway and Temasek Boulevard at the following times:
Besides the single-lane road, motorists can also enter Marina Centre area via Temasek Boulevard from Rochor Road (after exiting ECP) throughout the day. To ensure smooth traffic flow, traffic wardens will be deployed on site to direct traffic and assist the public. Road information and directional signs will also be put up in the vicinity to direct motorists. Car parks at Suntec City, Millenia Singapore and Marina Square remain open to public subject to availability. Please refer to below images for more details of roads that will be affected by the road closures and the different ways of entering Marina Bay. Use of New Temporary Signs to Direct Motorists To help motorists better navigate the road network while some roads are closed, a series of new signs will be implemented for the 2014 race. These signs bearing visual symbols will complement existing traffic signs to better direct motorists to three key routes – Shenton Way, Bayfront Avenue and Stamford Road – within the Marina Bay area. Please refer to Annex for more details on these signs. Information on Road Access Plans Members of the public are strongly advised to plan their journey ahead of time. Information leaflets on the road access and public transport plans will be available at selected petrol stations, major public transportation nodes and various developments in the Marina Centre area from today. The public can also access the LTA and MyTransport.SG websites for more information. Other terms and conditions apply.
