A 17 year old boy was sentenced to 30 months’ probation after he molested two primary school girls and stole eight school uniforms.

The court heard that Tony Tan Tong Li had a fetish for school uniforms.

Between 2012 and March this year, he would hand around his neighbourhood in hougang where he worked in a minimart.

He approached the two victims, aged 9 and 11 at the time on two separate occasions asking them to help him carry newspapers.

He had molested the 11 year old girl at a nearby staircase landing and she was later found by a passer-by crying.

The passer-by reported the incident to the school who found out what happened. During investigations into the incident, Tan also admitted to touching another 9 year old girl in March 12 last year.

He was also behind eight different thefts of school uniforms which he would steal from laundry that was left out to dry.







On January 16 this year, he took a school uniform for Holy Innocents’ High School from a set of laundry he had seen and took it to the top floor of the block of flats to masturbate over the uniform before throwing them away.

Under his probation, Tan will have to abide by a curfew and stay indoors between 9pm and 6am. He also has to perform 80 hours of community service and his parents had to pay $8000 as bond to ensure his good behaviour.

The 17 year old also needs to be supervised by an adult whenever he it outside.

He will also have to undergo therapy in regard to his fetish.
