Semua kapal ini akan ditenggelamkan. Sebelumnya, Presiden Joko Widodo (Jokowi) mengatakan, ada 5.000 kapal ilegal pencuri ikan yang berkeliaran di Indonesia. "Yang tertangkap belum sampai segitu (5.000 kapal). Yang sudah tertangkap 930-an kapal. Itu mau ditenggelamkan semua," jelas Susi usai menghadiri Musyawarah Rencana Pembangunan Nasional (Musrenbangnas) di Hotel Bidakara, Jakarta, Kamis (18/12/2014). Susi mengatakan, kebijakan penenggelaman ini merupakan perintah dari Presiden Jokowi. Tidak ada kapal pencuri ikan yang diberikan untuk nelayan. Saat ini, semua kapal-kapal yang ditangkap tengah dalam proses di pengadilan.
