Temasek sank $450 million into this JV. I think it will alll be gone soon. http://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/...r/2155310.html New CEO appointed for Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City Incoming CEO Ng Kok Siong has gained insights on the project at both management and board levels and is "uniquely positioned" to contribute to its success. SINGAPORE: The Ascendas-Singbridge Group has appointed Mr Ng Kok Siong as the chief executive officer of the Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (SSGKC). In a press release issued on Monday (Sep 28), it said that Mr Ng is currently the executive vice president of Singbridge and has over 20 years of real estate experience in investment, development, asset management and real estate consultancy in the Asia Pacific region, particularly in China. The group said Mr Ng had been actively involved with SSGKC since January 2011 and that he continued to supervise its growth when he returned to Singapore in 2012, leading to his board appointment in early 2015. The current CEO of SSGKC, Mr Chin Phei Chen, has served in the role for two and a half years. He will be returning to another senior leadership role within the Temasek group of companies, said Ascendas-Singbridge, adding that Mr Chin's last day will be Oct 14. "Having spent fruitful years involved in this significant project, I am pleased to have led the overall development of Guangzhou Knowledge City to where it stands today," said Mr Chin. "Now that the project is evolving beyond its initial development phase, the time is ripe for my successor Kok Siong to oversee the establishment of enterprises and highly liveable residential elements," he added, saying that he had no doubt that Mr Ng would be able to contribute to SSGKC's future success, given his intimate knowledge of the project. Ms Nina Yang, chief operating officer of Singbridge, said the "transition" is part of the company's ongoing efforts to ensure "continual and seamless leadership renewal". Ms Yang added: "Kok Siong has been involved in the Guangzhou Knowledge City project since its early days, and we are pleased to welcome him back to its executive management team. With insights gained at both management and board levels, he is uniquely positioned to contribute to the success of Guangzhou Knowledge city, and take it to the next level." Mr Ng said that he looks forward to returning to a management role and to steer the project's next stage of development and growth. Click here to view the whole thread at www.sammyboy.com. |
