Re: Harris Resort Batam
There IS a kelong style seafood restaurant near/in Harris.
Standard of food is so so, prices are not on the low side, meaning to go only if you are FORCED to, otherwise try go to elsewhere for your seafood...

Batam man, there is a kelong all the way from Muka Kuning, You must pass Piyayu, further down, up and down the mud roads, on the left side. THere is 2 kelongs, one by a malay, and the other the chinese. Try the malay one, IT is the cheapest so far I encounter. Chinese run ones are very expensive. Golden prawns and Batu Besar are expensive. but better in looks.

Re: Harris Resort Batam
Very Sure and Confirmed that there is one at the beach area located in between the Waterfront City ferry terminal and Harris hotel.
The Piyayu ones I've not tried yet, cheap and expensive is another story, but are their food good? My favorite seafood place is the one in Punggur, the Riverside. Some might say that their prices are a little bit on the higher side, but I would rate them as THE BEST seafood in Batam and I really don't mind paying a little extra for the quality....

Re: Harris Resort Batam
Since we are on topic of Harris, shall talk a little more about the area.
Harris resort is located in Marina City, also known as Waterfront City, and there's another very nice hotel nearby, the Holiday Inn... Below was something I posted recently in another Batam related thread.... http://sammyreviews.store/showthr...t=59174&page=3 Anyone tried the BBQ buffet dinner in Marina City? Queen Cafe/Pub is having a BBQ buffet dinner on every Wednesday evening. It's located at one or should I say, two of those shop houses infront of Holiday Inn Hotel, Queen is one of those facing the sea. You pay only S$10 and eat all you want, but.... only while stock last hahaha... But then again, for just S$10 you'll get Steak, Chicken Wings, Kebab, Fish, Squid, Prawn ect ect, I would say that It's very good value for money. And on Saturday evening, they'll have them Roasted instead of BBQ (also a buffet dinner on Sat) Today is Wednesday, think I will go over for dinner, and there are also few other pubs next to Queen, after dinner can go do some pub hopping...

Sometimes paying a bit extra for that very good quality food is very sensible to me, and comparing driving to Batu Besar and Pungur, Pungur is only slightly further away la.... The one in Marina Park I know la, and we call the canal Tua Long Kang, right to the end of those houses there's also the very nice mee pansit, which I call Mee Long Kang hahaha...

Answer to your 1st question is YES, very advisable and will have no problem booking a girl in town and getting her into your Harris hotel room. Answer to your 2nd question also YES, you'll have tons of trouble with the immigration getting your Sg PRC into Batam. Also you'll be bringing sand to the beach, only that they maybe refined sand? FYI, there's also "fine white sand" in Batam, rate here for LT with PRC is between S$300-S$400...

See them as potiental hookers??? Well, what can I say man, there are HUNDREDS if not THOUSANDS of them working in Indo (mainly in Jkt) as hookers. Also if I'm not wrong, the Chinese would need a VISA to get into Indo.

Tua Long Kang is shifting this december, to a place down the same stretch. At a corner further down the canal.
