Serious Cheap Unskilled Foreign Labour
An honorable member of the Coffee Shop Has Just Posted the Following:
Cheap unskilled foreign labour: 1. Kills innovation 2. Stifles investment in higher technology. SG petrol stations used to have automatic car washes. But because of abundance of cheap unskilled foreign labour, the companies have closed automatic car washes and revert to manual car washes 3. Causes social problems. Cheap foreign workers bring in their uncouth and littering habits. These result in more cleaners needed in SG 4. Causes divisiveness. Cheap foreign workers dont want to assimilate into SG society 5. Depresses wages. Because PAP allows liberal influx of cheap foreigners, businesses dont need to pay decent wages to Singaporean workers 6. Takes up scarce resources 7. Makes PAP addicted to easy money. Each foreign worker brings in a few hundred dollars as worker's levy to the pap. That's easy money for the pap.
