Here are some facts with Halimah Yacob becoming the next President of Singapore.

1. She becomes the 8th President of the Island Republic

2. She becomes the 3rd Indian President of the country

3. She becomes the 2nd Indian President after SR Nathan to receive a walkover where opposing candidates were deemed ineligible.

4. Singapore has had 4 Presidents who were appointed by Parliament
