Here yet again we see that anytime a Muslim organization runs afoul of the law for any reason, opportunistic supremacists such as Erdogan will portray this as a manifestation of “Islamophobia,” defined as the unfair targeting of innocent Muslims, which is so rare in real life that incidents of it have to be manufactured. Erdogan is, meanwhile, on extremely thin rhetorical ice when he says that this raid brings Europe closer to the Middle Ages. Throughout the Middle Ages...
